"Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know." - Pema Chödrön
I am not sure about you guys, but 2017 was an amazing year for me. Blessed to have worked in Seattle for about 6 months and traveled to Iceland and Maldives for about a month, was interviewed about my career six times, and then returned back to my home in New Jersey to spend time with family and friends and finished publishing my first book.
Looking back, 2016 was not that grand for me, however. It was inundated with disappointments, failures, and a lot of aimless wandering. It was a certain time period where I was truly out on my own and had to make decisions in which I had no idea of where it would lead me.
So, what changed?
I had to shift my perspective, let go of certain things that did not belong to me, and attract what I wanted in life by being just me. Simply put…but it was not that simple. I had to dig deep. Just when you thought that you have accomplished what you “thought” you wanted in life, Life finds a way to remind you to push harder and clarify, “is that truly what you want and where you stand with yourself?” So what did I learn that I can share with you all?
- Be very specific about your goals and intentions for the new year.
- It is imperative to find time with just you without distractions and ask, “is this is where I want to be in my life?”
- Give back. Share. Do something for someone else without expectations of return. Karma is always a full circle.
- Always do you.
Much love to you all, thank you for following me on this journey. Amazing things are coming in 2018 for you. I have no doubts.
